ADVANCING THE KINGDOM

Recently, I stumbled on this study in my archive and I feel I should share it with you. It’s one of the studies we’ve taken long time ago in one of our discipleship meetings. I’ve an assurance that it will revive the lost zeal for the kingdom in your heart.

Advancing the Kingdom: Lessons from the life of Abraham

What is the Kingdom?

If we don't understand it, we can't advance it. Jesus spoke a lot about the kingdom

·         It is God's rule and Dominion - Matthew 6:9-10

·         It is within us - Luke 17:20-21

·         It is like a mustard seed - Luke 13:31-32

To advance the Kingdom means:

·         To move the Kingdom forward - a continuous and consistent yearning and search for more of God. Matthew 6:33

·         It means to make the rule of God noticeable: Your life is a positive influence - Daniel

·         It means the rule of God is increasing in and around you

A raise in rank - there are levels of glory/grace we attain as we allow more of God and less of self

Lessons from Abraham

·         In your kingdom journey, even when you arrive, don't settle

·         Build altars to God, during significant encounters

·         If God didn't order it, don't do it: Trust God when famine comes

·         Be true to purpose

·         Believe the Lord, even when it seem impossible

·         Always check whether you have acquired anything you can't give back to God when he asks

 Do we really know his voice?

There is a need for a new generation of kingdom people, who will not be 'copycats'. Men and women, who will devote themselves to God, develop an ear for God's word, a heart of obedience and an eagerness for execution.
